Job description:

Aspera, a fast growing and profitable software startup in the San Francisco Bay Area building leading edge data transport technology, is seeking highly motivated engineers to join our software development team. The position will create, design, and implement desktop, web based, and embedded applications that utilize Aspera's core transport technology. Candidates with strong software development skills (C++, Java, Web technologies), and experience creating effective, capable User Interfaces are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain client or server components for Aspera's high performance file transfer suite, including internal libraries and tools and user interface components.
• Develop and maintain unit tests
• Ensure correctness, robustness, performance and usability of the developed software
• Contribute creatively to the evolution of the product line

Required Skills:

• Excellent programming skills in C or C++ and knowledge of Java
• Excellent record developing either user interface or internal software modules
• Web application programming and Ruby on Rails knowledge a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to achieve results on tight timelines
• Desire to change the world of network data delivery!

Desired Background:

• B.Sc. or greater in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline
• At least 2 Years of professional software development experience or graduate school equivalent
