Job description:

Aspera, a fast growing and profitable software startup in the San Francisco Bay Area building leading edge data transport technology, is seeking highly motivated engineers to join our software testing team. The position is an ideal opportunity to gain broad exposure to Aspera's transport technology and end user applications. Candidates with hands-on software development or testing experience, and a strong academic grounding in Computer Science/Engineering are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership for testing one or more applications from the Aspera product line;
• Develop manual and automated test cases to validate the applications across Unix/Windows/Mac and all major browser platforms;
• Design and build automation frameworks to test new applications;
• Review and comment on proposed application features;
• Perform automated and manual testing as required.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of software engineering and testing principles;
• Knowledge of all major operating systems;
• Experience with both open source and commercial software test tools;
• Strong scripting skills including UNIX shell, Perl, Ruby;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to achieve results on tight time lines;
• Experience with Marathon and/or Selenium a plus;
• Programming in C++ or Java a plus;
• Desire to change the world of network data delivery!

Desired Background:

• B.Sc. or greater in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline
• 3 Years of Professional Software Development or Testing Experience
