Job description:

Aspera, a fast growing and profitable software startup in the San Francisco Bay Area building leading edge data transport technology, is seeking highly motivated engineers to join our software testing team. The position is an ideal opportunity to gain broad exposure to Aspera's core transport technology. Candidates with hands-on software development or testing experience in network protocols and middleware platforms, and a strong academic grounding in Computer Science/Engineering are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership for one or more of the applications from the Aspera product line;
• Test and validate Aspera's high-speed data transport platform, in collaboration with the development team, across UNIX/Windows/Mac platforms;
• Develop automated tests and testing tools;
• Build and maintain test setups, including computers, operating systems, virtual machines and network equipment;
• Work with development team to ensure full unit test coverage.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of software engineering and testing principles
• Excellent understanding of TCP/IP networking and protocols
• Experience with software testing tools, network simulation
• Experience with system-level load and concurrency testing
• Strong scripting skills including Unix shell, Perl, Ruby
• Comfortable programming in C, C++ or Java
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to achieve results on tight time lines
• Desire to change the world of network data delivery!

Desired Background:

• B.Sc. or greater in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline
• 3 Years of Professional Software Development or Testing Experience
