With many new features and advances in functionality designed exclusively thanks to user feedback, including improved usability, security and bandwidth management, version 2.1 is immediately available as a free download to all existing Enterprise Server 2.x, Enterprise Server 2.x with Connect Web Option, Scp Client 2.x and Scp for Point-to-point 2.x customers. Version 2.1 also includes a plethora of enhancements to the fasp SDK for the Aspera developer community.

• Encryption at Rest – this extension of our security model provides a secure storage envelope for transferred files based on secure passphrase.
• Virtual Link – take enterprise-wide bandwidth management to the next level by allocating aggregate bandwidth targets per Aspera server, server farm or individual user.
• HTTP Fallback – to ensure connectivity in highly restrictive network situations, HTTP fallback provides an alternate transfer path for Aspera Connect clients, allowing transfers to happen over HTTP with complete proxy support, should a fasp connection fail to initiate.

Please note that Aspera will end support for fasp 1.x products on July 1st, 2009. Starting with version 2.1, backward compatibility with fasp 1.x products requires selecting an option during the software installation process.
