New at NAB 2010
At NAB 2010, Aspera is introducing three new products that extend the scope and functionality of its industry-leading software suite for high-speed file transfer. Aspera Sync – a new multi-directional synchronization application built on Aspera’s patented fasp™ transport technology – is designed to set new standards for high-speed multi-site synchronization of large file sets over the wide area. The new Aspera Cargo personal client provides end-users with an easy-to-use desktop interface for person-to-person file delivery using Aspera servers. And as part of the recently announced fasp-AIR™ product line, the new Aspera Mobile Uploader app for the iPhone and iPad, will enable companies to empower their remote contributors with high-speed file transfer to and from mobile devices. Also showcased are multiple enhancements to the complete fasp™ high-performance file transfer software suite, including the latest incarnation of the Aspera Console network-wide transfer management application, which incorporates a new custom reporting and indexing engine, and a new version of faspex™, Aspera’s flagship person-to-person file delivery solution, which introduces a streamlined web interface, support for the new Aspera Cargo personal desktop client as well as enterprise-scale Active Directory integration for very large user bases (thousands of individuals). The next generation of the fasp™ SDK includes support for applications that continuously generate new files or file sections – such as transfer of growing sets of 2K and 4K frame files. And finally, Aspera is teaming up with storage experts EMC to present a joint ultra high-speed file transfer and storage solution capable of delivering unprecedented multi-Gbps movement of large data over global wide area networks – transferring uncompressed HD video, digital cinema, or 3D film files around the world in minutes, using commodity hardware and public Internet is now possible. Unlike “one-size-fits-all” offerings, Aspera technology currently serves as the high-speed transport core for multiple best-of-breed file-based media workflows based on industry-standard products from Accenture, CEITON Technologies, IBM, Omneon, Rhozet and many more. At NAB 2010, Aspera is previewing further enhancements to the workflow capabilities of its product line with the upcoming Aspera Workflow Composition Framework. And as media companies turn to cloud-based services for improved efficiency and unprecedented scalability, Aspera is quickly becoming the de-facto standard to move data to and from the cloud.
