From installation to delivery, Aspera Connect 2.8 now gives developers full control over how Aspera file transfer capabilities are exposed to their end-users. We've made installation seamless. Leveraging the power of browser plugins allows Aspera Connect 2.8 to be installed with an "in-browser" user experience. With Connect 2.8 and its rich set of JavaScript API's, installation progress may now be shown directly within your web application where you, the developer, define how things are presented to your users.

By leveraging the new Aspera Connect 2.8 JavaScript API's, developers are able to control both the look and feel and workflow of transfer initiation, transfer progress, transfer control (such as pause, resume, cancel, etc.), as well as error handling. Developers can now register for a variety of JavaScript events and be notified when those events occur, allowing the developer to determine the best course of action to be taken. For example developers may register for file transfer events and display progress according to their web applications design and workflow.

With Aspera Connect 2.8, developers are able to completely hide all internal Connect dialogs and windows, enabling them to create a fully-branded user experience unencumbered by external user interface elements or error handling.

Additionally, Connect 2.8 gives developers full control over file transfer parameters including bandwidth/rate control, encryption, etc.

A developer's preview of Aspera Connect 2.8 is immediately available for Windows with official support for Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. Mac versions will be available very soon.
