Broadcast Video Expo – stands K24 & F30 – 16 February 2010 – High-speed file transfer specialist Aspera has appointed two technology solutions partners, Root6 and Tyrell CCT to help expand the company’s reach, expertise and technical capabilities in the UK and Ireland.
Root6 and Tyrell CCT will have responsibility for the sale and support of a complete portfolio of innovative software solutions based on Aspera’s fasp™ transport technology, which has become a market leader for the high-speed movement of large files over wide area networks. Leading media companies around the world such as ESPN, Sega, ITN, rely on Aspera to reduce their production cycles and deliver their content, faster and more efficiently than ever before.
Root6 sales and marketing director, John Harris, said: “The need to extend file-based workflows and move data around quickly and securely has grown significantly in the broadcast and film industries. However, when we rely on the internet for this, the headaches start. We see transfer failures and huge time lags. Aspera technology allows us to take advantage of existing network connections, not only providing a managed and automated distribution service but also ensuring reliability and reducing transfer times.”
Bryan Malone, managing director at Tyrell CCT, added: “The partnership is a natural progression of our work with Aspera and we’re delighted to add such a high performance file transfer solution to our portfolio. We look forward to helping our mutual customers overcome the challenges they face in developing file-based workflows, by combining Aspera’s proven transport technology and Tyrell CCT’s experience and knowledge of the UK and Irish broadcast and post production markets.”
See Aspera and Tyrell at Broadcast Video Expo at Earls Court from 16-18 February 2010. Aspera solutions will be demonstrated at the Root6 stand F30 and Tyrell stand K24.
