EMERYVILLE, Calif. — October 14, 2009 — Aspera Inc. today announced the immediate availability of Aspera On-Demand, high-speed file transfer software that enables users to rapidly transfer large file data to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Aspera’s fasp™ technology enables Fortune 500 corporations, Hollywood studios, major broadcasters, life sciences organizations and government agencies to move terabytes of data on a daily basis to AWS.

With Aspera On-Demand for AWS, users have the freedom to transfer files at their full bandwidth capacity with the assurance that content will be transported and stored reliably and securely. Aspera’s bandwidth control allows users to automatically protect other IP traffic on their WAN link and apply relative prioritization to individual file transfers.

Particularly useful for data-intensive applications – such as video transcoding, media asset management, 3D animation and visual effects rendering, genomic sequence processing, large database hosting and more – Aspera On-demand for AWS will benefit any workflow involving data transfers to and from the cloud, and between remote infrastructures. As an example, users will be able to transfer tens to hundreds of gigabytes per hour to AWS, from any global location.
