Aspera and CEITON Technologies Strengthen Collaboration to Provide Innovative Workflow Management
EMERYVILLE, Calif. and IBC 2009, Amsterdam RAI (Hall 7 Stand G11) — September 11, 2009 —
Building on a partnership unveiled at NAB 2009 and in response to customer demand, Aspera today announced that CEITON technologies is expanding its integration of Aspera’s high-speed file transfer software in its workflow automation system. The quick, secure and efficient movement of large files – often at global distances within an enterprise, or between multiple suppliers, partners and clients – is a core requirement of today’s distributed media production workflows. Aspera’s fasp™ technology delivers maximum transfer speed, regardless of file size, transfer distance and network conditions, while providing users with unprecedented control over their network bandwidth.
The expanded integration of Aspera technology CEITON’s workflow system includes transfer initiation directly from the CEITON Web Workflow interface, progress reporting of the transferred assets throughout the system, and the Aspera Console web-based management interface for distributed monitoring, reporting and control of high-speed file transfers. Directly within the CEITON interface, operators can drive complex workflows that include Aspera transfers, and track the relevant transfer status from Aspera Console.
This next-generation, Aspera-powered workflow system relieves network operators from the time and coordination cost of manually tracking large numbers of transfers to affiliates and partners – such as in Blu-Ray Disc production and Video-On-Demand supply chains – and integrates an already highly-automated file transfer process with the overall business process in which these take place. Building on the role-based access control and open web services API provided by Aspera Console, the integrated system offers role-appropriate views to operators, executives and clients of their individual transfers.
“High-speed data transport and comprehensive file transfer monitoring and control are key functionalities that top media companies are expecting from their workflow system”, said Michelle Munson, Aspera President and Co-founder. “CEITON technologies developed an innovative approach to workflow management that is now fully integrated with Aspera’s transfer technology, delivering best-of-breed solutions for media and entertainment organizations.”
