Enterprises are deploying mobile devices for content acquisition, remote data collection, review and approval, and distribution.  Any number of mobile scenarios may be in use among industries such as news & information collection, sports coverage, defense & intelligence, mapping for GIS, healthcare, web 2.0, and others. 

A common challenge among all industries: moving remote data sets over wireless networks of varying speeds, conditions, and quality. Transmitting data over wireless IP networks is unreliable or impossible using conventional TCP-based approaches like HTTP or FTP. Worse, using TCP, transfers perform unpredictably, slowing or failing at the worst possible moment: during periods of peak usage or when information is needed most—under deadline and in support of time-sensitive or mission-critical business.

Mobile solutions built on Aspera Mobile eliminate this problem, vastly improving the speed, predictability, and control of mobile uploading, downloading, and distribution—providing granular device-based adaptive rate control, centralized management, ease of use, and modular platform extensibility for device and workflow integration.   

Aspera Mobile may be deployed without modification on clients and servers, or customized through an extensible platform SDK to integrate with mobile device operating systems and workflows.  All mobile users and transfers are centrally tracked and managed through Aspera Console, a rich reporting and management system. 

Users interact with the same familiar devices, in a variety of form factors (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.).  An Aspera client application is installed on the device operating systems, such as Apple iOS, Google Android, or Windows.  The
server platform uses Aspera Connect Server, licensed for mobile use.
