Aspera Scp is a complete file transfer application designed for business critical data transfers demanding maximum speed, predictability, and security.
Scp comes in two versions: Aspera Client and Aspera Scp for Point-to-Point. Both versions can connect to Aspera servers to transfer files, but Point-to-Point can additionally act as an Aspera server, and accept incoming connections from other Aspera-enabled computers. The Aspera Enterprise Server also includes server functionality.
Built on fasp transport technology, Aspera Scp enables the fastest possible file transfers on links of any speed independent of network latency and packet loss, and delivers a performance advantage of up to several hundred times the speed of standard FTP:
The performance advantage depends upon the available bandwidth and the TCP performance for the specific network path and dynamic conditions, as fasp can sustain transfers at the target rate with less than 1% protocol overhead, regardless of network conditions. Scp has precise pre-set and on-the-fly rate control per transfer for guaranteed finish times, and complete, built-in security. Every transfer is authenticated, encrypted on the fly, and verified to prevent piracy or tampering. The end-to-end progress and performance details are reported during the transfer and logged for easy integration into existing network monitoring and billing systems.
Ideal for:
GUI, command-line, and hot-folder interfaces including:
Scp scales with your bandwidth needs: The same application sustains 1.5 Mbps file transfers over T1 links, and 100 Mbps+ transfers over high-speed dedicated circuits, independent of network conditions. Bandwidth upgrades require only a software license upgrade.
The Aspera Sync service built into Aspera Scp for Windows automates transfers using convenient “hot folders". Directories on a local or remote file store serve as drop-boxes for automatic transfer to designated endpoints with Aspera Scp for Point-to-Point or the Enterprise Server installed. When new files or directories arrive in a local hot folder configured for auto-push, Sync forwards the content to the destination. Similarly, Sync monitors remote folders configured for auto-pull and automatically downloads new content. Sync may run on a single user workstation or shared file server, for transfers on behalf of groups or applications. One or more local or shared directories can be configured as hot directories, bound to a network destination. A cumulative transfer report of all transfers, including pending files, the currently transferring file (bytes completed, transfer rate, and estimated arrival time) and finished files (completion status and timestamp) is displayed and logged for each hot folder pair.
Aspera Scp for Point-to-Point and Aspera Scp Client are available as a per-seat software license for all major operating systems (Microsoft Windows, Linux, Macintosh OS X, Solaris, and FreeBSD). Each version comes as a standard installable package for that operating system, and is available through software download from Aspera.
